| PS-MAPP PS-MAPP is the Arizona mandated adoption and foster care preparation training class. The goal of the PS-MAPP training is to prepare individuals and families to make an informed decision about becoming a foster, adoptive, or foster/adoptive families. The decision is made with the licensing agency and is based on the capability and willingness to take on the "role" and develop the skills needed to foster and/or adopt. Foster and adoptive families who make good decisions and grow in their new roles work best with the agency, birth families, and others. These partnerships help children and youth have stability and permanence with a family. In order to begin PS-MAPP training, families must first attend an orientation (click here for calendar of orientations) and complete the intake process with a licensing agency such as West Valley Child Crisis Center
Advanced Trainings WVCCC hosts a minimum of four (4) trainings per year for licensed foster and certified adoptive families to assist in meeting their annual requirement of six (6) hours of additional training as identified in their “professional development plan”. More training opportunities are coming soon! Please contact Veronica Soto for tentative dates and topics at 623-344-3508 or vsoto@wvccc.org. -May 19th Parent Workshop on ADHD & ADD
